Wire

Wire are an English rock band formed in London in 1976, originally associated with the punk scene before becoming central figures in the development of post-punk and art punk. The group, built around Colin Newman, Graham Lewis, Bruce Gilbert, and Robert Gotobed, came largely out of art school backgrounds and pursued a more experimental path than most of their punk contemporaries. Their music has shifted in texture and approach across decades, but has always leaned toward economy and unconventional structure.
