Vladimir Horowitz

Vladimir Horowitz was a Russian-born American pianist, born in Kiev in 1903, who became one of the most celebrated virtuosos of the twentieth century. He trained at the Kiev Conservatory and built his reputation performing in the Romantic tradition, drawing wide admiration for his technical precision and the almost orchestral range of tone he drew from the piano. He recorded prolifically for RCA Red Seal and Columbia Masterworks/Sony Classical until his death in 1989.
