Tito Rodriguez

Tito Rodriguez, born Pablo Rodríguez Lozada on January 4, 1923, in Santurce, Puerto Rico, was one of the central figures in New York's Latin music scene during the 1950s and early 1960s. He led his own big band and recorded mambo, cha-cha, and bolero, holding his own alongside contemporaries like Tito Puente at venues such as the Palladium. He passed away in 1973, leaving a catalog that spans high-energy dance music and intimate romantic ballads.
