The Shadows

The Shadows are an English instrumental rock group who formed in London in the late 1950s, originally as a backing band for Cliff Richard. They dominated the British charts in the pre-Beatles era with a signature guitar sound built around Hank Marvin's twangy Fender lead work, and they continued recording and touring well into the 2000s. Over the decades they racked up 69 UK chart singles, making them one of the most successful British acts of their era.
