The Mills Brothers

The Mills Brothers were a vocal quartet from Piqua, Ohio, made up of four brothers who started performing in the late 1920s. They worked in a pop and jazz style, mixing close harmony singing with instrumental imitations, and became one of the most successful acts of the mid-twentieth century. They were the first Black artists to host their own national network radio show and scored a number one hit with 'Paper Doll' in 1943.
