The Go-Go's

The Go-Go's are an all-female rock band from Los Angeles, California, who came together in the late 1970s out of the city's punk scene. They play pop-inflected new wave and rock, mixing punchy rhythms with melodic hooks. The group, which includes Belinda Carlisle, Charlotte Caffey, Jane Wiedlin, Gina Schock, and Kathy Valentine, were among the first all-female bands to write their own songs, play their own instruments, and top the album charts.
