The Beach Boys

The Beach Boys formed in Hawthorne, California in the early 1960s, originally built around the Wilson brothers (Brian, Dennis, and Carl), their cousin Mike Love, and friend Al Jardine. They started out playing surf rock and car songs, then gradually moved into more ambitious pop territory, with Brian Wilson driving much of the songwriting and production. Their tight vocal harmonies became one of the most recognizable sounds in American pop music.
