Slim Whitman

Slim Whitman (1923 to 2013) was a country singer and guitarist from Tampa, Florida, whose voice was distinguished by a wide-ranging falsetto and a gift for yodeling. Over a career spanning more than seven decades, he recorded upward of 100 albums covering country, gospel, Broadway standards, and popular love songs, with reported sales of around 70 million records. He built a loyal following on both sides of the Atlantic, particularly in the United Kingdom, where he charted consistently during the 1950s and beyond.
