Sabicas

Sabicas, born Agustín Castellón Campos in Pamplona, Spain in 1912, was a Romani flamenco guitarist widely regarded as one of the most important figures in the history of the instrument. He left Spain during the Civil War in 1936 and spent decades in exile, building an international reputation that helped bring flamenco guitar to audiences far outside Spain. His playing pushed the technical and expressive boundaries of the form and was a direct influence on later masters including Paco de Lucía.
