Paul & Paula

Paul and Paula were a pop singing duo from Texas, made up of Ray Hildebrand and Jill Jackson, who met while attending Howard Payne College in Brownwood in the early 1960s. Hildebrand wrote their signature song after the pair performed it on a local radio station, and it quickly caught enough attention to land them a record deal with Mercury Records. They recorded sweet, romantic pop music aimed squarely at the teen audience of the era.
