Pastor López

Pastor López (1944-2019), born José Pastor López Pineda in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, was a singer-songwriter and bandleader who spent much of his career steeped in Colombian tropical music, particularly cumbia. He also worked in vallenato, porro, and paseaíto, and led his long-running group Pastor López y su Combo. He is remembered as one of the most popular cumbia voices across Venezuela, Colombia, and Latin America.
