Mr Black

Mr Black, also billed as Mr Black El Presidente, is a singer, songwriter, and producer from Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. He works in champeta, a coastal Colombian genre that pulls from dancehall, reggaeton, and electronic music, and he has been one of the genre's most prominent figures since the late 1990s. His music is rooted in the pick-up sound system culture of Cartagena, and he has pushed champeta toward broader audiences both inside and outside Colombia.
