Max Richter

Max Richter was born in Hamelin, Germany and grew up in England, later studying composition at Edinburgh University, the Royal Academy of Music, and with Luciano Berio in Florence. He works in a post-minimalist style, building orchestral and electronic soundscapes with a restrained harmonic palette. Over the years he has scored films, television series, and ballets, and collaborated with directors including Denis Villeneuve and Martin Scorsese.
