Lecuona Cuban Boys

The Lecuona Cuban Boys were a Cuban orchestra founded in the early 1930s under the patronage of composer Ernesto Lecuona, with Armando Oréfiche leading the group in practice. They spent decades touring Europe and the Americas, playing Afro-Cuban styles including rumba, conga, and bolero, and helped bring those rhythms to international audiences. The band started out as Orquesta Encanto in Havana in 1931 before taking the Lecuona name in 1934.
