James Newton Howard

James Newton Howard is an American composer, keyboardist, and record producer from Los Angeles who built his early career as a session musician and keyboard player, including a stint touring with Elton John. He went on to become one of Hollywood's most prolific film and television composers, earning eight Academy Award nominations across decades of scoring work. Before his film career took hold, he was closely connected to the musicians in Toto, collaborating with them as an orchestrator and performer.
