Ibrahim Ferrer

Ibrahim Ferrer was a Cuban singer born on February 20, 1927, in San Luis, near Santiago de Cuba. He spent decades performing son, bolero, and Afro-Cuban styles with various Santiago and Havana ensembles before retiring in 1991. He returned to international visibility in the late 1990s through his work with the Buena Vista Social Club, recording and touring widely until his death in 2005.
