Howlin' Wolf

Howlin' Wolf, born Chester Arthur Burnett in Mississippi in 1910, was a blues singer, guitarist, and harmonica player who spent decades reshaping what electric blues could sound like. He grew up steeped in Delta blues, eventually moving to Chicago where he recorded for Chess Records and built a catalog of raw, powerful records that influenced generations of rock and blues musicians. His voice, deep and raspy, and his commanding stage presence set him apart from almost everyone around him.
