Herb Alpert

Herb Alpert is a trumpeter and bandleader from Los Angeles who built his reputation in the 1960s fronting Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, a group that mixed pop melodies with a mariachi-influenced sound. He co-founded A&M Records with Jerry Moss and scored hits both as an instrumentalist and a vocalist, a combination almost no other artist has managed on the U.S. charts. He has continued recording well into his eighties, releasing albums that span jazz, pop, and easy listening.
