Duane Eddy

Duane Eddy (1938-2024) was an American guitarist from the rock and roll era, born in Arizona and closely associated with producer Lee Hazlewood. He built his career on a deep, resonant 'twangy' guitar sound, playing melodies on the low strings of his instrument rather than the high ones, and scored a long run of hit records in the late 1950s and early 1960s. His style left a mark on artists ranging from the Ventures and the Shadows to George Harrison and Bruce Springsteen, and he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.
