Dave Brubeck

Dave Brubeck (1920-2012) was an American jazz pianist and composer from Concord, California. His music leaned into cool jazz, with a particular focus on unusual time signatures and the layering of contrasting rhythms and meters. He worked across jazz, classical, and blues territory, and his Dave Brubeck Quartet became one of the most recognized groups in mid-20th century jazz.
