Claude Bolling
Claude Bolling (1930-2020) was a French jazz pianist, composer, and arranger born in Cannes. He was a child prodigy who was playing professionally by age 14, heavily influenced by Duke Ellington, Earl Hines, and Art Tatum, and he remained committed to traditional jazz and ragtime throughout his career. He also composed music for over a hundred films and later created a celebrated series of classical crossover chamber jazz recordings.
