Bobby Lewis

Bobby Lewis was an R&B and early rock and roll singer born in Indianapolis in 1925, who grew up largely in orphanages and foster care before launching a performing career as a teenager. He spent decades working clubs and carnivals before landing a recording contract, and his career peaked in the early 1960s with a pair of chart hits. He continued performing live well into his later years despite severe vision loss, and died in April 2025 at the age of 95.
