Bob Thiele Emergency

Bob Thiele Emergency was a studio jazz project put together by record producer Bob Thiele after he left Impulse Records and launched his own Flying Dutchman label in the late 1960s. Thiele, who had produced John Coltrane, Ornette Coleman, and many others at Impulse, assembled a group of seasoned session players including Tom Scott, John Carter, and Jim Horn. The music spans soul jazz, jazz funk, and avant-garde experimentation, reflecting Thiele's wide-ranging tastes as a producer.
