Bix Beiderbecke

Bix Beiderbecke was a cornetist and pianist from Davenport, Iowa, born in 1903, who became one of the defining voices of 1920s jazz. His playing was noted for its lyrical quality and clean tone, and he is widely regarded as the first major white jazz soloist. He died in 1931 at age 28, leaving behind a small but enduring body of recordings.
