Angels Of Light
Angels of Light was an American neofolk project formed around 1998 by Michael Gira after he disbanded Swans, the New York noise rock group he had led since 1982. Where Swans leaned on volume and brutality, Angels of Light traded that for acoustic instruments, folk and country influences, and a more melodic, introspective tone. Gira ran the project with a rotating cast of collaborators and released records on his own Young God Records label.
